The details you feel before you notice them.
Baseboards, crown, and mantels are what make a room feel finished. We mill custom profiles in our own shop — matching historic trim or creating something entirely yours.
Custom-Milled Baseboards
Off-the-shelf base comes in a handful of profiles and never quite matches. We run custom knives to reproduce historic profiles exactly — or mill tall, crisp modern base that grounds the whole room.
- Profile matching — bring us a sample; we'll replicate it
- Any height — from sleek 3" modern to stately 10"+ traditional
- Tight cope joints — corners that stay closed as the house moves
Crown Molding
Crown draws the eye up and makes ceilings feel taller. From single-piece Shaker crown to built-up three-piece assemblies with lighting coves, we scale the profile to the room so it reads elegant — never heavy.
- Built-up assemblies — layered profiles for estate-level presence
- Cove lighting ready — concealed LED channels above the crown
- Vaulted & tray ceilings — compound angles cut right the first time
Fireplace Mantels
The mantel is the anchor of the room — and the first thing guests notice. We build everything from massive rustic beam mantels to fully paneled surrounds with integrated media walls, engineered to meet clearance codes.
- Beam or paneled — reclaimed-look timbers to formal surrounds
- Code-aware design — proper clearances for gas and wood-burning units
- Media integration — TV niches, cable chases, and floating hearth benches
Frequently asked questions about trim & mantels
Can you match existing or historic trim profiles?
Yes — we run custom knives to reproduce historic profiles exactly. Bring a sample of your existing trim and we'll replicate it; essential for renovations in older Florida homes.
What size crown molding should I use?
Scale crown to ceiling height: roughly 3–5" for 8-foot ceilings, 5–7" for 9-foot, and 7"+ (including built-up assemblies) for 10-foot and taller. Oversized crown reads heavy on low ceilings; undersized crown disappears on tall walls.
Are wood fireplace mantels safe and code-compliant?
Yes, when built to clearance codes. Combustible mantels must keep minimum distances from the firebox opening, which vary by fireplace type — we design every mantel to meet clearances for gas or wood-burning units.
Finish the room the right way.
Whole-house trim packages or a single showpiece mantel — we price both happily.
